Ad Sizes and Specs

We will continue to serve two different ad sizes: a billboard banner ad and a square ad. The accepted sizes will have to strictly adhere to the guidelines:

 

Billboard Banner Ad Creatives:
  • 728px x 90px (recommended)
    or
  • 767px x 121px

Square Ad Creatives:

  • 300px x 250px (recommended)
    or
  • 300px x 300px

Accepted File Types: GIF, JPG, PNG

Max File Size: 150kb

Change to Banner Ads on Mobile Devices

An important change to note is that on mobile devices the banner ad will now display the square (300×250 or 300×300). Previously we were displaying the larger 767×121 ad in this location, but that ad size will no longer be displayed on smaller screen resolutions.

It is important to make clear to any advertisers that if they only provide the 728×90 or 767×121 creative (image) it will not display on mobile which makes up the majority of most site’s web traffic.

What if I sold ads that should display on multiple sites?

Another huge advantage of this new platform is that we can easily display ads across multiple sites. We no longer need to rely on each site’s curator to manually upload the ads to their individual site. When filling out the New Advertisement Request Form you will be able to specify which sites the ad should display on.

How do I see my stats?

A monthly report will be sent to each site admin on the 1st of the month that displays all the ads being run on your site including the total number of impressions, clicks, and click-through-rate (CTR). This data will be for year-to-date of when those ads were added to GAM. 

Regional Advertisers – If you have advertisers that are being displayed on multiple websites you will receive an additional report showing the data for that specific advertiser and the stats for each site it displays on. 

What if my ad sizes are not correct?

 

Unfortunately, the new platform depends on uploading exactly the correct sizes for both the banner and square ad spaces. If your advertiser has provided ads in a different size there are a few options:

  1. Go back to them and encourage them to provide the right specs (see above for correct ad sizes)
  2. Edit the image in something like Canva or use www.birme.net
  3. Upload the artwork they have provided and we will do our best to resize them for you.
